Osteria Pronto is one of the restaurants featured as part of the Austin JW Marriott Austin hotel. Osteria Pronto pride themselves on quality produce sourced locally and you can taste it! Vibrant colours, fresh bold flavours and elegant presentation. I had the pleasure of checking it out while I was in Austin and they did not disappoint.
I started with ciabatta bread, rich Italian olive oil and their creamy tomato soup of the day. It was beautiful. The perfect Italian entre! As I was sitting taking my first snap a sweet little bumble bee came to check out the buzz! I managed to catch him in flight below. He kept me company for a while until flew off in search of more adventures.
Up next was burrata with tomato tarte and balsamic jelly. Now… I am a HUGE burrata fan. That dish was well and truly demolished. Osteria Pronto boasts one of Austin’s most authentic Italian wine lists with more than 100 bottles from Italy. I wanted to keep it Italian so the wine guru of the house recommended I go with the Ceretto Arrius Blange. A white from Northern Italy.
Main course was one of their specialties. A vegetarian straw and hay pasta. Osteria Pronto keeps their Italian authenticity on point by making all their pasta fresh in-house. They also have a HUGE wood fire pizza oven inside for the pizza lovers! It was so lovely to sit and have a long lunch with myself in the beautifully designed and comfortable restaurant. If you don’t have time for a leisurely lunch as I did, they also have a wine bar, designed to cater for a quick bite and vino kind of dining experience
Now, as most of you I’m sure learnt at a very young age … there’s another tummy for dessert. I satisfied my sweet tooth with a mixed berry crostata with yoghurt gelato paired with a sparkling rose. The dish looked stunning and tasted even better. Smooth silky gelato with homemade fresh berry tarte does wonders for the soul!
If you’re looking for a fresh, quality Italian feed in Austin Osteria pronto is the way to go! To check out more of Osteria Ponto’s signature dishes created by executive chef Gilberto Rodriguez Jr. check out the hashtag: #itsOurThing.
After the exquisite dining experience the lovely hotel marketing manager took me on a little tour of the JW Marriott Austin Hotel. The hotel building is amazing. They incorporated the topography of Austin into the foyer tiling design, the chandeliers that hang in the conference rooms are designed around the constellations seen from Austin and the pillars are made from local Austin Limestone. It was so cool to see the JW featured what makes Austin so unique in the design and build of the hotel.
We finally ended up on the rooftop Edge Pool Bar. I had a little cocktail and hung out, basking in the afternoon sunshine. Not a bad way to spend a Monday afternoon! The Edge Pool bar has cabanas you can hire and often have live music and DJs for weekend pool parties. Check out the hashtag #taketheedgeoff to see some snaps of the vibe. After a recent renovation, the Edge pool bar has a new terrace extension, fire pits for the chilly evenings, a second bar and lounges.
It was such a treat to experience Osteria Pronto and the Austin JW Marriott Austin hotel features. Check out the Osteria Pronto Instagram page here for more details. I’m starving after recalling that fab meal! Time to cook some pasta … not from scratch … I’ll leave that to the pros!
Lots of love
